New SEC Rules effective in 2022
The new requirements effective in 2022 relating to business development companies (BDCs) and other registered closed-end funds (CEFs).

All filers of Form 24F-2, starting from February 1, 2022, will be required to use XML structured data format.

Starting from August 1, 2022, annual reports for registered CEFs must include management’s discussion of fund performance (MDFP). Registration statements and annual reports for BDCs must include financial highlights. Registered CEFs and BDCs will be required to file financial statements in inline XBRL (iXBRL) structured data format.

SEC Hours of operation overview
The SEC EDGAR system accept filings only during weekdays, excluding SEC holidays, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM Eastern Time. Important to note that all forms (with the exception of Section 16 and MEF filings) submitted (accepted by SEC) after 5:30 PM Eastern Time will receive the next business day’s filing date.

The SEC EDGAR system will not accept or process filings in observance of federal holidays listed below. It is important to keep in mind that if a SEC holiday falls on a weekend day, the federal observed holiday will be moved to the preceding Friday or following Monday.
