  • One Month to EDGAR Next: Are You Ready?
    on August 15, 2025 at 4:34 pm

In one month, on September 15, 2025, compliance with the EDGAR Next changes to EDGAR filer access and account management is required to continue to file on EDGAR uninterrupted. Filers must be enrolled in EDGAR Next or have been granted access on Form ID on or after March 24, 2025. Are you ready? To enroll, consult: How Do I Enroll in EDGAR Next How Do I Update the Passphrase and CCC to Enroll (and Avoid the Need to Submit Form ID) Enrolling in EDGAR Next (instructional video) EDGAR July 28, 2025 announcement (tips for enrolling) SEC staff webinars linked on the EDGAR Next page on SEC.gov. Enrollment will remain open through December 19, 2025, however, as of September 15, 2025, filers who have not enrolled or been granted access on Form ID on or after March 24, 2025 will be unable to file until they enroll. At a minimum, unenrolled filers should ensure NOW that they have a current CCC and passphrase which are required to enroll, as well as access to their EDGAR POC email box (in case the CCC and passphrase must be reset or confirmed as current). Unenrolled filers cannot change their EDGAR POC email after 10 p.m. September 12, 2025. Filers should further ensure that individuals who will take actions for the filer on EDGAR obtain individual account credentials from Login.gov. Account administrators for the filer should ensure that the filer’s account is set up on the dashboard of the EDGAR Filer Management website, and, if relevant, among other things, account administrators should invite individuals who will take actions for the filer and delegate authority to filing agents. Extensive resources are available to filers on the EDGAR Next page on SEC.gov and the EDGAR How Do I Guides. Filers can also obtain assistance through email at EDGARNext@sec.gov and telephone at 202-551-8900, option #2.

  • EDGAR Release 25.2.1.1
    on August 4, 2025 at 11:56 am

On August 4, 2025, EDGAR Release 25.2.1.1 will introduce the following changes: EDGAR Filing Website Updates for Release 25.2.1.1 Form SDR was deployed to EDGAR in 2015, but as the Commission has published a No-Action Statement that applies through Nov 5, 2029 for all Form SDR submission types, the ability to submit submission types SDR, SDR/A, SDR-A, SDR-W, SDR-CCO and SDR-CCO/A has been temporarily disabled in EDGAR Filing website, EDGARLink Online and for filer constructed submissions.  EDGAR will be updated to introduce a new validation to alert filers of errors related to their reporting of previously paid offerings. The validation will supplement an existing rule that ensures <Total Fees Previously Paid> should equal the sum of <Amount of Registration Fees> for all Table 1 lines that are identified as previously paid lines, less any offsets applied on prior filings for the registration.  EDGARLink Online Updates for Release 25.2.1.1 Form SDR was deployed to EDGAR in 2015, but as the Commission has published a No-Action Statement that applies through Nov 5, 2029 for all Form SDR submission types, the ability to submit submission types SDR, SDR/A, SDR-A, SDR-W, SDR-CCO and SDR-CCO/A has been temporarily disabled in EDGAR Filing website, EDGARLink Online and for filer constructed submissions. Fee Exhibit Preparation Tool (FEPT) for Release 25.2.1.1 When using the Fee Exhibit Preparation Tool, filers will now be required to include a “Not Applicable” tag for any omitted structured Filing Fee Exhibit Table if a fee-based EDGAR submission includes a structured Filing Fee exhibit attachment. This “Not Applicable” tag is optional for filer constructed submissions.  Filers filing submission types POS AM, N-2 POSASR, POSASR, 424B1, 424B2, 424B3, 424B4, 424B5, 424B7 and 424B8 will now be able to save a Narrative Disclosure without including a footnote (the footnote is generated from the text entered in the “Additional Narrative Disclosure” box).  If you have any questions, please contact Filer Support at (202) 551-8900 (Option 3).

  • Keep Filing—Enroll in EDGAR Next Now
    on July 15, 2025 at 9:16 pm

EDGAR filers must be in compliance with the SEC’s EDGAR Filer Access and Account Management rule and form amendments—known as EDGAR Next—as of September 15, 2025 to keep filing uninterrupted on EDGAR. To comply with EDGAR Next, filers must be enrolled (or granted access on Form ID on or after March 24, 2025), and they must authorize individuals to act on their behalf on EDGAR. Filers must further ensure that those individuals present Login.gov individual account credentials and complete multifactor authentication to access EDGAR.  Enroll in EDGAR Next now! Enrollment is a streamlined process for filers to transition to EDGAR Next that does not require presentation of a power of attorney to SEC staff or notarization of documents.   SEC staff encourages filers to enroll rather than submit a Form ID for lost access to EDGAR. If filers have lost the codes needed to enroll or are unsure whether those codes are current, they may consult How Do I Update the Passphrase and CCC to Enroll (and Avoid the Need to Submit Form ID).  Extensive guidance to assist filers in complying with EDGAR Next is available on the EDGAR Next webpage on SEC.gov, including step-by-step enrollment instructions, links to how-to videos and webinars, and answers to frequently asked questions.

The EDGAR Next Beta (test) environment has been updated to require that testers present Login.gov individual account credentials and possess relevant permissions to access all three Beta websites—EDGAR Filing, EDGAR Online Forms, and EDGAR Filer Management—and to make test filings. Testers can now also select the CIK that will display in the first 10 digits of the accession number—the “login CIK”—when submitting a test filing.    These changes will be implemented in live EDGAR on September 15, 2025, the compliance date for EDGAR Next. Filers must be enrolled in EDGAR Next by September 15, 2025, or have been granted access on Form ID on or after March 24, 2025, to continue filing uninterrupted.  Consult the EDGAR Next webpage on SEC.gov for more information about EDGAR Next and the EDGAR Next Beta.

  • EDGAR Release 25.2
    on June 16, 2025 at 1:00 pm

On June 16, 2025, EDGAR Release 25.2 will introduce the following changes: EDGAR Filing Website Updates for Release 25.2 On August 28, 2024, the Commission adopted Form N-PORT and Form N-CEN Reporting; Guidance on Open-End Fund Liquidity Risk Management Programs (IC-35308). The following changes will be made to the Form N-CEN schema and online application to permit filers to comply with the new requirements: Addition of new Item C.22 Liquidity Classification Services. Addition of new RSSD ID and other identifying number fields throughout the Form. Previously, certain LEI fields on the Form permitted filers to report either an LEI, RSSD ID, or, in some cases, other identifying number in the same field. This release separates LEI, RSSD ID, and other identifying number into different fields. The specific items that will be modified are: B.16.a.iv, B.17.c, C.5.b.ii, C.6.c.ii, C.6.c.v.2, C.6.d.ii, C.9.a.iv, C.9.b.iv, C.9.c.iv, C.9.d.iv, C.10.a.iii, C.11.a.ii, C.12.a.ii, C.13.a.ii, C.14.a.ii, C.15.d, C.16.a.iv, C.17.a.iv, D.12.a.iv, D.12.b.iv, D.12.c.iv, D.12.d.iv, D.13.a.iii, D.14.a.ii, E.2.d, F.1.c, F.2.a.ii, and F.4.c. Important Note on LEI field validation and future validation changes: At this time, EDGAR will not be enforcing field length validations for the LEI field. This will enable filers to continue to upload and submit submissions according to their current process without generating an error message. Beginning on November 17, 2025, however, filers will be expected to report the appropriate identifier in the appropriate field and EDGAR will enforce specific validations for each of these fields when an entry is provided. LEI will require a 20-character alphanumeric response or "N/A". RSSD ID will require a numerical response of up to 10 digits or "N/A". Other identifying numbers will be limited to 100 characters but also will require the filer to provide a description of up to 500 characters. Submissions with entries that do not meet these criteria will not be accepted. EDGAR will be updated to include pop-up messages on Form MA, MA-A and MA/A for Items 1.E.(1) and 1.E.(3) if the user denotes an address as a private residence in those items. The messages will include information for the convenience of the filer denoting how to remove certain address information from their public EDGAR profile. The change will not otherwise alter the functionality or requirements of those submission types. EDGARLink Online Updates for Release 25.2 The EDGARLink Online interface will remove the inoperable links to the following submission types: N-PX and N-PX/A. Since July 1, 2024, filers have been required to make these submissions in a structured format created by either using the online version available on the EDGAR Filing Website or constructed by filers according to the "EDGAR Form N-PX XML Technical Specification" document. Select references to Form N-PX and its variants will be removed from EDGAR Filer Manual Volume II: Chapter 7 Preparing and Transmitting EDGARLink Online Submissions.. XBRL Updates for Release 25.2 EDGAR will be updated to support the IFRS 2025 Taxonomy. Additionally, the following taxonomies are now disallowed: US GAAP/2023, SRT/2023, IFRS/2023; and the 2023 version of CEF, COUNTRY, CURRENCY, DEI, ECD, EXCH, FND, NAICS, OEF, RR, RXP, SIC, SNJ, STPR, VIP taxonomies. Please see https://www.sec.gov/info/edgar/edgartaxonomies.shtml for a complete list of supported standard taxonomies. Fee Exhibit Preparation Tool (FEPT) for Release 25.2 The Fee Exhibit Preparation Tool (FEPT) will be updated to include an informational text block to the Table 1 section for certain forms, schedules, or statements where either "General Instructions II.H / II.I" or "Combine with Rule 457(f)" applies. This text will specify where underlying calculation information will appear in relation to an offering line and is designed to provide greater transparency into existing functionality. This update is purely informational and will introduce no changes to existing functionality Tech Spec Updates for Release 25.2 The schema file eis_NCEN_Filer will be updated.  Please see SEC.gov | Technical Specifications for complete details. If you have any questions, please contact Filer Support at (202) 551-8900 (Option 3).
